Curtin Archaeological Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Archaeologist.  The Assistant Archaeologist aids the Principal Investigator, Dr. Ed Curtin, with field, lab, and office work in cultural resource surveys, data recovery projects and related archaeological activities.  Curtin Archaeological Consulting, Inc. operates out of a lab and office in Ballston Spa, New York.  While we work across New York State, most of our field projects are within about a one hour drive of the office, in a region from approximately Catskill to Cobleskill to Lake George, New York, also including communities such as Albany, Schenectady, Coxsackie, Schodack, East Greenbush, Malta, and Saratoga Springs. 

To apply you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, a focus on archaeology, and completed an archaeological field school.  A strong foundation in field and lab procedures, basic report writing tasks, proficiency with MS Access, Excel, Word, and experience with GIS are required. Knowledge of QGIS is a plus.  Writing requirements generally include editing and preparation of sections of Cultural Resource Management reports.  We are looking for candidates with strength in these areas.  However, on the job training is available for individuals who we feel meet minimum requirements.  The entry level pay for the Assistant Archaeologist is $15.00 per hour.
